Consumer protection in Hungary is exceptionally strong, especially for durable consumer goods.
Tiered Warranty System
Since 2021, the duration depends on the price: 1 year for 10-100k HUF, 2 years for 100-250k HUF, and 3 years above 250k HUF.
15-day Repair Goal
Sellers should aim to repair items within 15 days. If it's not done in 30 days, they must replace it or refund you within 8 days.
Mandatory Warranty Period
- 10 000 – 100 000 HUF: 1 year
- 100 000 – 250 000 HUF: 2 years
- 250 000+ HUF: 3 years
In Hungary, mandatory warranty depends on price (up to 3 years).
