Italy's Consumer Code grants a 2-year legal guarantee (garanzia legale) for conformity defects in new consumer goods sold by professionals.

Garanzia legale vs commerciale
The legal guarantee is mandatory. A commercial warranty (garanzia del produttore) is voluntary and cannot limit statutory rights.
Reporting defects
You must report a conformity defect within 2 months of discovering it. Within the first 12 months, the defect is presumed to have existed at delivery.
Mandatory Warranty Period
Uniform period: 2 years
Repairs or replacements must be carried out free of charge within a reasonable time.
