Warranty Rules in Slovakia 2026 – Guide
Slovakia applies the EU 2-year legal guarantee through the Civil Code and consumer protection acts. Claims are made against the seller.
Burden of proof
If a defect appears within 12 months of delivery, it is presumed to have existed at delivery unless the seller proves otherwise.
Complaint deadline
You must notify the seller of a defect without undue delay after discovering it, and exercise your rights within the warranty period.

Uniform period: 2 years
Standard EU 2-year conformity guarantee applies to new consumer goods.
